Welcome!
A fine art portrait generally captures someone’s quieter, thoughtful, more reflective side in a beautiful and memorable way. To achieve that, I take my time and treat a portrait session as though I were a painter looking to create a singular great portrait that captures the subject’s personality and reflects who they truly are as a unique and special human being. Quality is always my goal, not quantity. You will never feel rushed!
The photo session itself will probably take about thirty minutes to an hour, but we will take as much time as we need to create a portrait that you will love! There is no set time limit. Creating your portrait is a collaboration, so during the shoot we’ll look at the images together on my computer, see what you like and what you don’t, and then we’ll fine-tune things until your portrait is exactly the way you want it.

William Pugliano is a highly experienced photojournalist and portrait photographer based in Lansing, Michigan. His work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, books, and media outlets worldwide for nearly 40 years, including Getty Images, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, People, Fortune, Forbes, Life, Smithsonian Magazine, Audubon, Fox News, Discovery, CNN, and NBC.
Whether it’s the funeral of a President, a photo shoot with rapper Eminem, the Yellowstone fires, the crash of United Airlines Flight 232 in an Iowa cornfield, a sled dog training camp with a famed polar explorer, major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, and the U.S. Open, civil unrest, and celebrities, Bill has photographed some of the most interesting people and events of our time, including nine U.S. Presidents.
